Footsteps (2011), snow, litmus paper, and cassette tape, 4" x 2.5" x 0.375"

The Japanese say that they hear footsteps of the snow to describe an upcoming snow storm. Fresh snowflakes were collected individually with a needle and were laid onto a strip of litmus paper in an attempt to learn what kind of sound they make.
