In my practice, I explore the interconnectedness and cyclical nature that weave us all together, intentionally or unintentionally, and there is a certain sense of surprise and comfort in knowing that. The natural phenomena of the water cycle, along with mediums such as cyanotype and thermal color, enable me to translate ephemeral human presence like body water and heat into tactile visualizations. The result is a conundrum of the desire to create static, physical objects that capture the fleeting human essence.
Born in Japan. Lives and works in North Kingstown, RI.
